Petit Bocal is a charming French cafe and restaurant located at 177 Sandringham Road.
The interior is very chic, white walls, blond wood tables and black and white prints on the walls all contribute to a very pleasant and intimate dining space.
I visited on a Friday night with a group of friends and there was a happy, buzzy vibe in the restaurant. We ordered a selection of the salads and evening platters to share. Our selection included the fromage de chèvre, a green salad with pears, toasted walnuts and a deliciously tangy red wine vinagarette with a warm goats cheese toastie. The winter salad was a selection of roasted veges, baby spinach, grilled haloumi and kumara crisps. We also ordered the thick cut rosemary salted fries with homemade aioli and the duck duck goose platter which included confit duck terrine, duck rillettes and chicken liver pâté served with a homemade onion jam. All dishes I tried were fresh and tasty with a perfect balance of flavours.
Petit Bocal are also open for breakfast and lunch.
